G77 meeting: Iran urges end to sanctions against developing nations

New York, IRNA – The special adviser to Iran’s president has highlighted the need to put an end to unilateral coercive measures against developing countries.

According to IRNA’s foreign policy correspondent, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, member states of the Group of 77 exchanged views on the development of relations among them.

Speaking at the meeting, Mohammad-Sadegh Fazli underscored the necessity of strengthening multilateralism and unity among the member states, stating Iran’s opposition to unilateralism and unilateral coercive measures by the group.

He also emphasized the necessity of reducing and ultimately eradicating poverty.

The meeting of the member states of the Group of 77 is held annually on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York and is participated by ministers and high-ranking officials from 134 countries.
